Overview

In DataView you protect data and functions using the following methods:

• Creating users and groups
• Assigning manager privileges
• Access to records according to the scheme OWNER-GROUP-WORLD
• Access to menu items and buttons via profiles
• Defining passwords

You can use these methods both while developing applications (protecting meta-data, especially in case of distributed development) and in the final application itself (protecting user data), provided you do not integrate an absolutely different, individual method of user- and privilege management in your application.
