Create Variables

The system list Default Data is available to create and manage all variables. In this list you can display all DataView-internal variables (identified by the entry SYSTEM in the User field) to check them or to use them as a template.

How to Create a User-Specific Variable:

1. Open the Default Data list and insert a new variable record.

   If you want to user-specifically assign another value to a system variable, you first find the variable and then copy the variable record.

2. Specify the following entries.

   Field	Comment	Confer
   Variable Name	After creating the variable, enter its name here.	-
   User	Select the user the value assignment is to be valid for (all users = GLOBAL). All existing users are available for selection.	-> Users and Groups
   Type	Select the data type here.	-> Field Data Types
   Value	Here you enter the value you want to assign to the variable. The entry must be type compatible	-

   After saving the variable has been logically defined.

3. Select the new variable record and update the variable table in main memory via Reconfigure.

   Alternatively you can restart DataView.
