Overview

Events are key assignments. They define the association of keys and key combinations to program functions depending on system state and user.

Characteristic Features of Events

• Function calls for keys are userexits or event macros.
• Keys can be used twice ([key] only or [Shift + key]).
• Keys can be assigned to functions depending on the system state.
• Keys can be assigned to functions depending on the user. Users of your application are either all users (GLOBAL) or one certain user.
• Events assigned to the user SYSTEM are reserved for DataView itself. They are also valid in each application without any limitations.
• You can copy system events and user-specifically assign the corresponding key with another function. If this was done, the original function defined for SYSTEM will not be available to the user any longer.
