User Assignment

User Assignment lets you select and manage members of the current group.

Name name of the user
Access a user's highest access privileges
Default (Default Flag) default flag
UIC a user's ID code
Profile name of a user profile
Manager Manager flag
Inactive Flag to deactivate a user. User can no longer log-in.
Login Fail Check Number of unsuccessful login attempts
Ticket Fail Check Number of failed attempts with password logins

Form Opens a user's User Data form
Group Assignment Displays the groups of which a user is a member

User Name

Name of the user

You can only enter (or select) names of existing users.

Access

The highest access privileges a user has to the group's data

Entry:
(empty) the user has no access to the group's data
r read only, the user may only read the group's data
w write, the user may only read or write to the group's data
d delete (default), the user has complete access to the group's data
o owner, the user has complete access to the group's data, and can also modify access, ownership and group settings for all records owned by members of the group

Setting the Default flag defines the group as the user's default group. When DataView starts, the user is automatically a member of the default group. A user can have only one default group.

UIC

A user's ID code

The UIC is a unique ID for the user. When a user is selected, the UIC is displayed automatically.

Profile

Name of a user profile

The profile is used to shield selections or buttons from a user. When a user is selected, a profile assigned to the user is automatically displayed.

Manager

The Manager flag awards manager privileges to a user. When a user is selected, DataView automatically displays whether or not the user has manager privileges.

Inactive

Flag to deactivate a user . User can no longer log-in.

With the Inactive flag a user can be set inactive, so user is no longer able to login.

Login Fail Count

Number of unsuccessful login attempts

In this field you can check how often a DataView login of a user has failed because of a wrong password. If the account was locked, select "Unlock Account" in the context menu to unlock the account. The Login Fail Count is reset to 0 after a successful login or unlocking the account.

Ticket Fail Count

Number of failed attempts with ticket logins.

Ticket fail count is used for Kerberos login, Web Service Single-Sign On and session tickets. If the used ticket is invalid, the login is counted as failed.

In this field you can check how often a ticket login has failed because of an invalid ticket. If the account was locked, select "Unlock Account" in the context menu to unlock the account. The Ticket Fail Count is reset to 0 after a successful login or unlocking the account.

Form

Opens a user's User Data form and displays the user record in the header form.

Group Assignment

Opens a user's Group Assignment form displays the membership of the user to groups.
