How to Create a Class

What to do:

Select Start > Classification > Classes.
The Classes mask is opened.

To change to insert mode click .

Enter the classification number CLS-1000 in the Class Code field.
Classification numbers must be unique.

Enter Bolts in the Name field.

When creating class hierarchies only the classes of the lowest level have a classification list. The classes above are so-called abstract classes. When creating these higher classes the Container checkbox in the form header needs to be activated. This checkbox represents an abstract class which can be used as a higher group in a class hierarchy.

Activate the Container checkbox to define the class as abstract.

After the class is created the Container checkbox can be selected and deselected manually, as long as the class does not contain any subclasses.

Select EDB-ARTICLE from the Entity field.
(If documents or projects are to be classified, select the corresponding entity. To do this, use the field selection menu.)

To save the entry click .

Repeat steps 2 to 7 and enter the following values:

CLS-1210	Hexagon screws	No
CLS-1220	Socket head screws	No

Change to the context menu and switch to the list view. Find all entered classification codes using the CLS% search criterion for the Classification field.
