Lists

Lists display data records in a tabular format. Lists are used whenever multiple records must be displayed or edited in parallel in an easy-to-view format.

To determine whether mask should be displayed as lists or forms, select Tools > Options > Representation... and activate either List or Form and click OK.

The list contains the same fields and functions as the form, and consists of the following elements:

A	Mask title
B	Buttons
C	Table with records of one object type
D	Number of selected records and number of records displayed
E	Jump to first record
F	Jump to previous record
G	Jump to next record
H	Jump to last record
I	Display of next 100 records

The width of a column can be resized / optimized by double-clicking on the delimiter of the respective column. The width of the column is then automatically set to the longest entry of a field of this column.

Quick Filter

To activate the Quick Filter functionality, the default EDB-USE-ROW-FILTER has to be set to "y".

The quick filter allows filtering a number of records that are currently shown in a list. It can be activated for each mask (in the respective Form Data mask). It filters only data retrieved from the database and displays the result in the list. It does not search or filter against all database content.

The quick filter can also be used when the thumbnail view is activated, i.e. it will then highlight the found entries.

When clicking on the magnifying glass it can be defined which fields the Quick Filter should work on. With the setting All (default) all fields are filtered at the same time. Besides, the type of filtering can be defined as well (e.g. Case insensitive).

Autofilter

Together with the Quick Filter, the Autofilter is activated as well. An additional icon is displayed beside the Quick Filter field. To add the Autofilter to each column of the list, this button has to be clicked.

The Autofilter select menu shows all entries of the respective column in alphabetical order and allows searching for specific entries.

The title of the column, on which the Autofilter has been applied on, shows the Autofilter symbol and the chosen search criteria. To remove the Autofilter from the columns, the Autofilter button has to be clicked again. To display all entries of the list again, select "All" from the Autofilter select menu of that column the filter had been applied on.

When an Autofilter is set and a new entry is added to the list (or an existing entry is modified) and does not match the Autofilter search criteria, this entry will not be displayed after it is saved.

Stylesheets for Lists

To modify the layout of lists, stylesheets can be defined.

Tree Table

The Tree Table functionality can be added to every multilevel structure.

To add the Tree Table functionality to a list, a user with Manager rights is required.
