Configure the File Usage

The values in table T_DDM_FIL_USE are evaluated when creating replication orders, during AutoView viewing or CAD integration using "Quickload" (ECI - API: eci_loa_cax).

The File Usage list contains information (format, creation system etc.) about the different data types used in the data exchange process. The list allows to control the activated or deactivated status of the different files.

All local vaults which are available at a distributed site are created and managed through the Configuration of target vault list.

To open the list select Manager > Tools > Replication > General Replication (DDM) > File Usage.

Fill in the following fields on the list of files that you intend to make available for the replication process.

File Format	File format, e.g. JT, NAT, TIFF (T_FILE_DAT.FILE_FORMAT)
Creation System	Application which has been used to create the file, e.g. CATIA V4, OFFICE, PRO/E 20.
Logic Type	Not evaluated, informational only For the Heterogeneous Structure Explosion, the Logic Type in combination with the field Document Use is used for a document in tab "CAD Structure"
Function	Function to be used for the replication of files: DFM_LOCAL: replication using the File Replication Module (DFM) AV_VIEWER: Use AutoVue integration to view file with this "File Format" and "Creation System" PVM_JT - Use AutoVue integration to view jt files ("File Format" = JT)
Usage	y = use this configuration n = inactive configuration
Document Use	Used for Heterogeneous Structure Explosion in combination with the fields Usage Type. For more details refer to Getting Started > Manager Information > System > Heterogeneous Structure Explosion - Configuration
Comment	Additional information

For the AutoVue Integration, the entries with function AV_SERVER (and PVM_JT) are used with Usage = y when you view files in File Format and Creation System.

The CAD integration uses the ECI - API "eci_loa_cax" ("Quickload"). With this API you provide the name of the function to evaluate as a parameter (cpBomFunc).

Normally "DFM_LOCAL" is used, which is the default when no value is provided.
