Manage the FMS Vault

 

Vaults of individual distributed sites can be selected from the FMS Vaults list. All individual vaults available at a specific distributed site are added and managed through this list.

The term vault is used for protected storage areas that are reserved for exclusive use by Agile e6 on the storage media of a computer or within a network compound. Access to this areas must go through the Agile e6 file management system and can only be performed by users with the required system privileges on the operating system level. Generally speaking, storage areas can be defined on any storage media within a network.
The definition of vaults in a network compound is performed on the operating systems level using system privileges. Storage area management functions of Agile e6 can be found in the FMS-Vaults mask.
It is recommended that you refrain from creating vaults which do not physically exist in order to ensure the integrity of your system.

 

To open the list, go to the DDM Site Vault form and switch to Edit Mode. Change to the Target Vault field and click the button .

When a new vault is created, the Type, Network reference, Name, and Date fields are filled in automatically.

Select one of the available options in both the Kind and the Type field. The number of available options may vary depending on the application at hand.

Field Example Function:
Storage area DOCUMENTS Unique name of the vault
Type IN
IN: Check-in, vault for standard file management operations
BCK: Backup area, vault to be used for backup files
EXT: External storage area, vault for export operations

or additional storage areas if required (additional areas are treated like "IN" type storage areas). The contents of this field may be modified if your server requires different settings.
Type FMS
FMS: Standard vault, encrypted machine-dependent vault (with predefined names)
PUB: Public storage area, public vault with direct read access for all users via mounts or client programs
EIF: Extended storage area, encrypted machine-dependent vault (with cache directories); meta information is created for each file.
ALI SAP ArchiveLink communications interface between R/3 application components and external components
AME A CE Archive Manager Engine can be used instead of the SAP ArchivLink interface (for increased performance).

The options in this field may be modified if your server requires different values.
Location ka Defines the physical location of the computer. This entry must be identical to the local EP_DDM_SITE configuration setting of the local site.
Node sol10 Name of the computer / disk node of the corresponding storage area.
Disk + path /sol10/disc5/docu_secure Name of disk and path of the storage area
Network reference 804257548 Network reference for the file server. The network reference indicated here is the default for Agile e6.1, but can be configured.
Name EDB_DEMO Automatic system entry: User name of the user who created the vault.
Date 03.10.2000 12:10:12 Automatic system entry: Date of creation
