How to Create a Configuration Item

	What to do:
	In order to work through this example you must have created the item ART-1000 Ball Pen with its BoM.
	Item Management
	Please note that it is a prerequesite to have the item ART-1000 Ball Pen created under the influence of the Change Management as otherwise later on no configuration item can't be assigned to the Affected Objects tab of the Baseline!
	Select Start> Items. The Item mask is opened.
	Search for the item ART-1000 Ball Pen.
	To change to edit mode click .
	Select the Configuration Item checkbox.
	Only with the Configuration Item check box activated, an item can be assigned to a baseline!
	Select the Serialized checkbox.
	The activation of the Serialized checkbox is only necessary if it is intended to assign a serial number to an item. Only if an item is assigned a serial number the item will be listed on the As-Built Configuration mask!
	To save the changes click .

	Repeat steps 2-6 and mark the following items as Configuration Item and Serialized: ART-1500 Upper Part ART-1200 Ornamental Ring
	The BoM should be displayed on the BOM tab of the item mask as follows:
