IPC return code from <ipcerr.h>
If for com a program file (.exe, .com, .cmd or .bat) is passed, the client will start the corresponding program. It will open in a separate window. If the start of the program fails, the client tries to open a document with the help of the Windows shell. One precondition is that the document type is known and linked to an application on the client PC. dal_gfi_com_ipc must be called with the document path as its first parameter; the second parameter is ignored. This also works with URLs and Mail.
Launch Web browser and request the Oracle homepage, e.g.:
dal_gfi_com_ipc("http://www.oracle.com/", "");
Open Mail program, create new mail, pre-assign receiver and reference, e.g.:
dal_gfi_com_ipc (""mailto:info@oracle.de?subject=A question about DataView"", """");
