Create Events

For creating and managing all events the system list Event Data is available. In this list you can display all DataView-internal events (identified by the entry SYSTEM in the User field) to check them or to use them as a template.

How to create a user-specific event:

  1. Open the Event Data list and insert a new event record.

If you want to user-specifically assign another function to a system event, you first find the event and then copy the event record.

If you want to display all event records for a key quickly, you can select determine key in the NoSelect menu and then confirm the desired key.

Attention! In any case you should check that a new user-specific event does not deactivate an important system event. Whenever possible you should assigned unused keys or key combinations to create new user-specific events.

  2. Specify the following entries.

    Field Comment Confer
Key Only after new assignment: Select the desired key code in the selection menu or press the desired key or key combination after leaving the empty field (via [Tab]).

Action Select an event macro or a userexit. The function must be useful in the selected system state. -> Function call for events
Parameter Here you pass any required userexit parameter.

After storing the event has been logically defined.

  3. Select the new event record and update the key table in main memory via Reconfigure.

    Alternatively you can restart DataView.
