Agile e6 Single Sign-On Functionality

Please, see also the DataView Online Help > User Data Form, the Getting Started Online Help, the Administration Guide, and the Security Guide for Agile e6.

With the Agile e6 single sign-on functionality the Agile e6 Java Client can be started by using LDAP or Kerberos login credentials.

  • LDAP
A user and password stored in LDAP will be used to start Agile e6 with a pre-defined user.
  • Kerberos
The Windows user and password will be used to start Agile e6 with a pre-defined user.

In both cases, the login credentials are mapped to specific Agile e6 user of which one is the default user. Agile e6 will then be started with the default user, unless a different user is selected.

Single Sign-On with LDAP

Please, see also the Security Guide for Agile e6 for further information on LDAP Support.
When logging in to Agile e6, the LDAP login credentials will be used.

Single Sign-On with Kerberos

Kerberos is a computer network authentication protocol which works on the basis of "tickets" to allow nodes communicating over a non-secure network to prove their identity to one another in a secure manner. Its designers aimed primarily at a client–server model, and it provides mutual authentication—both the user and the server verify each other's identity.
  Functionality:
Initial single sign-on prompts the user for login credentials, and gets a Kerberos ticket-granting ticket (TGT).

The Agile e6 system requires authentication, using the ticket-granting ticket to acquire service tickets.

The user's identiy will be verified to the Agile e6 Server without prompting the user to re-enter credentials.
