How to Execute Parallel Versioning

What to do:

In order to work through this example, you must have completed either one of the examples Create a new Object (formal process) referencing a Set or Create a new Object (ad-hoc process) referencing a Set.
Before executing this example, it is required to adjust the following settings:

1. Configuration Parameter EDB-VER-PARALLEL (System>Other Parameters)

Set the value for this configuration parameter to YES or CONFIRM in order to activate parallel versioning.

2. In the Change Management Configuration settings (System>Change Management>Configuration) define for which entity/entities parallel versioning should apply and activate the corresponding radio button for parallel versioning ("1-On" or "2-Confirm").

3. Optional: Activate the checkbox for "Parallel Effectivity" in the Change Management Configuration settings

When activating "Parallel Effectivity", the revisions created from an object are all valid at the same time whereas usually the effectivity of created revisions follows one after another!
Select Start > Items.
The Item mask is opened.
Search for the item ART-1450.
Create a new work order (e.g. EWR-1510).
This Work Order is needed as a reference when performing the parallel revisioning function.
Change the state of the item ART-1450 to 220 | Approved.
Complete the work set of the work order EWR-1500.
Change the state of the item ART-1450 to 240 | In Change.

Select Revisioning>Create New Revision>Without structure from the context menu.

On the Item mask select the work order EWR-1510 and save the entry.
A new revision (revision 1) of ART-1450 has been created .

As long as the original item ART-1450 is in the state 240 | In Change, further revisions can be created.
Please note that for any further revision it is required to reference a new work order (work set). It is not sufficient to reference an additional work set (e.g. work set 20) of the work order that was previously used to create the new revision!
In order to view all the revisions created, click the hyperlink in the Item Number field of the Item mask (original item). This will open the Item Master mask. All item revisons are listed in the Item Revisions tab.
