Please note that with the present release it is not possible to restore the "Supress Inheritance" setting! Therefore, the following example is merely intended to give you a broad understanding of how this function works! |
![]() |
As a prerequisite for this example, you must have created the organizational unit Marketing with the subordinate organizational units as depicted in the Introduction (NA Marketing and Europe Marketing). Furthermore, you must have assigned users to these organizational units via a job function! |
In this example the intention is to deny users access to the organizational unit NA Marketing by means of the "Supress Inheritance" function. | |
![]() |
Please note that for this example it is required to assign the Marketing Manager to the organizational unit NA Marketing before executing the "Supress Inheritance" function. If the Marketing Manager was not assigned to NA Marketing and would perform the "Supress Inheritance" function, the organizational unit NA Marketing wouldn't be visible for any user! In this case only the DataView manager would be able to cancel the "Suppress Inheritance" setting! To prevent you from making organizational units misleadingly invisible and therefore inaccessible, a warning will be displayed in the message window! |
