The Group Data Form

The Group Data form is used to create and manage an application's user groups. You can add existing users to a group by selecting them from the sublist.

You can modify the group's name at any time, without affecting the privilege settings. Only the ID code is used when managing privileges (Ident Code field).

The Ident Code is a unique identifier for the group.

DataView generates a group's ID automatically, but you can alter this field when you create a new group (max. 5 characters). After the group has been saved, this is no longer possible.

Profile

You can only use (or select from the menu) the name of an existing profile.

A profile is used to shield selections or buttons from members of a group. This is only effective if, alongside assigning a group profile, you also:

When a group profile has been defined, each member of the group since DataView was started inherits this profile, unless they have their own user profile.
