Getting Started

Start Agile e6

The required startup procedure depends on your current installation version and hardware platform. All these values can be taken from the installation instructions.
In the following instruction, it is assumed that you have already started the operating system and connected to the network.

Start Agile e6 on your system.
The Agile EDM start mask is opened and looks different for each client:

Java Client
  • User: Your user name
  • Password: Your password
  • Application: Environment installed on the server
  • Server : Name of the server on which the database is stored
  • Port: Port number for the daemon

The Connection details section is hidden by default.

The client remembers the entered values and lists them in the respective selection menu of each field. Entered values are only remembered after the connection was performed sucessfully.

Web Client
  • Application: Environment installed on the server
  • User name: Your user name
  • Password: Your password
After a period of inactivity, your Web Client session may time out. If this happens, the next time you attempt to work in the Web Client, the Login dialog box will appear on your screen. To reestablish the session, enter your password in the Password box and click Login.
Enter the respective data.
Note the correct spelling, including capitalization for the password.
Confirm your entries.
Agile e6 is started.
Please note that it is not possible to log in to Agile e6 via one of the clients without a valid password!
Please note that it is not possible to log in as two different users in two different browsers when using Mozilla Firefox. As an example, if you first log in as DEMOEP and then try to log in as DEMOEP_M, the Firefox browser will directly log in as DEMOEP without displaying the login page since it shares the same session with different browsers having the same link. However, this limitation does not apply to the Internet Explorer!
Please note that when using the Java Client Webstart, image names need to be written in lowercase as otherwise the images won't be displayed correctly!
