Multi-Organization Access Rights

How to Use Organizational Structures

What to do:

In this example the multi-level organizational structure as depicted in the Introduction is used! The user logged in is the Marketing Manager!
There are several ways how to maneuvre within organizational structures:
  1. The most comfortable way for the logged in user to gain access to the organizational structures is via the browser window. Clicking at the Companies/Departments entry will display the top-level organizational unit HEADQUARTER.

When clicking at HEADQUARTER, the subordinate organizational unit the logged in user is assigned to via a job function will be displayed. A further click on will open the complete structure explosion, providing an overview of all organizational units the logged in user has access to.

The view on these organizational units can be limited due to the visibility settings (View > Filter > Organizational Units to Display)! This also refers to the documents and items listed in the browser window!
  2. Clicking one of the organizational units displayed in the structure explosion will open the appropriate Company/Department mask. As an alternative, you can also select Start > Organizations > Companies/Departments and search for the organizational unit via the Company/Department mask. All subordinate organizational units assigned to this organizational unit are displayed in the Departments tab.

  3. Further subordinate organizational units of the organizational units listed in the Departments tab can be displayed when selecting References > Departments from the context menu. The subordinate organizational units are displayed in the Related companies/departments list.
