The Document Mangament Module consist of the internal browser, the Projects tab, and the element list. Objects assigned to a project are displayed in a structure. The element list can be opened by clicking on an entry in the browser (or via the context menu).
After activating the license for the Document Management Module (
> , activate ), the
tab will not be opened automatically. The
checkbox in the mask (
> > ) has to be selected for
first.
Because the
tab is opened by default as the opening tab, the tab has to be selected first to work with this module.Projects tab and Element List

The structure displayed in the Projects tab is the result
of assigning objects to projects. Information on how to assign objects to projects
can be found in the Project Management.

The structure of a root project (e.g. PRJ-1000) can be differentiated in directly (A) and indirectly related entries (B). Objects that are assigned to a root project are directly related entries (A). The sub-structure of these objects are indirectly related entries (B). Drag and drop operations can be applied to directly and indirectly related entries.
Information about how to configure the Relations checkbox can be found in the

The element list shows detailed information of the entry and lists all objects that are assigned to this entry.
The element list is divided in two parts. The upper part (A) shows a table
with all objects assigned to this particular entry. The lower part (B) below
the table gives information about the entry itself.
Double clicking the name of an object (project, item, document) in the table
will show the information of this specific object in the lower part.
A: Table with information about all objects assigned to the respective project.
B: Detailed information about the entry (e.g. ART-1000), or the assigned
object (double clicking on the object name in the table, shows information of
this object). The context menu is designed for the different entries (see Context
Menu for the
tab above).
C: Hyperlink to open the mask of the respective object.
Operations
can be specifically defined for each object .
Configuration
Element List
Entries can be deleted from the table of the element list by selecting an entry
and pressing the delete button on your keyboard. The configuration parameter
EDB-PRP-ENT-DEL has been designed to enable this feature and to define if the
object will be deleted or if only the reference will be deleted.
Drag and Drop Operations
Objects can be dragged and dropped from the browser into the browser, from a list (either a list or the element list) into the browser and vise versa. Drag and drop operations also work from the MS-Windows Explorer into the browser and the element list.
Multiple selected objects can be dropped into the browser. However, it is not supported to multiple select entries in the browser and drop them into a mask.
References of the objects have to be considered when dragging and dropping (e.g. documents can be assigned to a project but not vise versa).
Dragging an entry from the browser and dropping it into the
browser will create a copy of the respective object.
Dragging
and dropping from the MS-Windows Explorer into the browser will create a document
and check-in the file.
