How to Derive a Text Instance from a Text Template

 

What to do:

A text instance can only be derived from a text template in the status Released.
Text templates can also be created independently from a text template (Start> Text Management > Instances) and then be assigned to a text template later. This example describes how a text instance is derived from a text template.

Select Start> Text Management > Text Template.
The mask Text Template is opened.

Select the text template TXT-001 and change the status to "Released".

In the context menu click Create Instance.
The Text Instance Editor is opened.

 

Alternatively, it is possible to derive a text instance from a text template, by clicking on the tab Instances and creating a new text instance in Insert mode.

Enter the following data in the respective fields:

Name of text instance.

Is entered automatically when deriving a text instance from a text template.

You can also select another text template from the selection menu which is assigned to the same category.

TXT-001
Is filled in by the system automatically.
Template text of the selected template from which the instance is derived; is filled in automatically.

To enter a placeholder value you can either assign a value manually or select a glossary entry:

Enter value directly in the field - the placeholder text in the text field is updated automatically when clicking in the Text field. Click on the Ref button and select a value from the glossary. The value is entered automatically in the text instance mask and and the template text filled in automatically.

To save the entry click .

Text instances can only be edited in the status "In Work". They can be deleted in the status "In Work" or "Inactive".

In the Text Template mask click on the Instances tab and check if your Instance is listed.
