Keyboard Shortcuts

The following tables will explain some of the more important key settings and shortcuts:

General Keyboard Shortcuts

The key settings used in this table are MS-WINDOWS-Standard:
TAB In edit mode jumps to next data field (the field content is simultaneously marked).
SHIFT+ TAB In edit mode jumps to previous data field (the field content is simultaneously marked).
Deletes character to the left of the cursor, close selection window.
DEL Deletes the actual character
ENTER Opens the context menu of the mask and allows to store the record.
HOME
(on English keyboard)
Sets the cursor at the beginning of the current field.
Ctrl+HOME
(on English keyboard)
Cursor jumps to first record in edit mode in a list.
This function is only available in Java Client.
Ctrl + END
(on English keyboard)
Cursor jumps to last record in a list.
This function is only available in Java Client.
Page Up
(on English keyboard)
Cursor jumps upwards over a visible section of a list.
This function is only available in Java Client.
Page down
(on English keyboard)
Cursor jumps downwards over a visible section of a list.
This function is only available in Java Client.
Ctrl+Z Undoes the last action (Web Client only).
Ctrl + X Cuts the marked text and copies it to the clipboard.
Ctrl+C Copies the marked text to the clipboard.
Ctrl+V Inserts from the clipboard.
 

Keyboard Shortcuts in Agile e6

The key settings used in this table are specific to Agile e6:

These key settings can be defined to be valid for a certain user only (e.g. USER, GLOBAL, SYSTEM).

The system checks the user settings in the following order:

  1. USER
  2. GLOBAL
  3. SYSTEM
INSERT
Without selected record: Inserts a new record and puts it into edit mode
This function is only available in the Java Client.
With selected record: In lists, copies the marked record and puts it into edit mode
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Edit mode: Switches between insert and overwrite mode
This function is only available in the Web Client.
END
In empty list: Switches to search mode with detailed search form
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Search and edit mode: Sets the cursor at the end of the current field.
Arrow down
In lists, jumps to the next line down.
Arrow up
In lists, jumps to the next line up.
Del

In lists, deletes a line if having the permission for it.

In forms, deletes the selected content of a field.

Ctrl+a

Only for lists in select mode!

Expands a list with the internal fields.

Ctrl+b
In lists, sets selected entry into edit mode.
Ctrl+d
In lists and forms in edit mode, displays the information of the respective field in the message window.
Ctrl+e
From anywhere in the system, initiates the closing of Agile e6.
Ctrl+f
Opens Transition screen
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Ctrl+i
Cursor jumps to next field
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Ctrl+j
Opens context menu
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Ctrl+k

Displays the:

  • mask data
  • class data
  • entitiy data
Ctrl+l
When a field is a multilingual field, it opens the multilingual window to enter the term in the different languages.
Ctrl+m
Opens context menu
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Ctrl-n
In lists, displays information about .... in the Message window.
Ctrl+o

Sets forms and lists into view mode, even when read only. By pressing the F8 key, the text window of a selected field is opened.

The view mode can be canceled with the right mous button.

Ctrl+p
In forms and lists in edit mode, opens the text window of a selected field.
Ctrl+r
With one selected record: Calls up information about access privileges
This function is only available in the Java Client.
With multiple records selected (in edit mode!) Copies the content of a marked field of one record into the same field of the other selected records in edit mode.
This function is only available in the Java Client.
Ctrl+y

Opens the form Logic-Model with DT/Procedures.

Ctrl+F4
In Single Document Interface it closes a mask.
F6
In Single Document Interface it opens the next mask.
Ctrl+F6
In Single Document Interface it opens the previous mask.

F-Key Functions

F1 Opens the online help.
F8 Opens the text window of a selected field.
F11 Displays the information of the mask or a field in the message window.
F12 In forms and lists, when a record is selected, it opens the Save as Favorite or Stored Query mask.
