Office Suite

Key Features - Create Documents/Files

Office Suite can be used from

The examples in this documentationl follow both directions.

Save a Document/File

With Office Suite it is possible to save documents/files directly from an external application to Agile e6 or assign new files to already existing Agile e6 documents. The following image shows the different ways to save documents in Agile e6 and how to assign a new file to an existing Agile e6 document.

Documents can only be saved in Agile e6 if the file type list is known. It is not possible to add file types manually, a new file type is created automatically when checking in a file of a specific type for the first time.

Saving Directory Contents

In addition to the capability of saving single office files in Agile e6 and assigning them to documents, it is also possible to check in several files or complete directory trees and link them to a document.

In this case, you can select several files in the search browser or use the Drag&Drop function. Such documents are always assigned the file type 'File Folder'. However, for this reason it is not possible to use functions such as viewing or editing which are specific to the type of file.

Saving an entire directory tree can only be performed with the functions available for file selecting in the browser window.

Define Copy Template

Office Suite supports the transfer of document properties from various MS Office applications in both directions. To be able to use this function efficiently, Office Suite allows you to define the copy procedure and save it in a template. All the necessary information can be saved in the mask for document properties or user-defined properties in such a template.

The creation of a new document using copy templates increases your work efficiency.

Show Structure in Browser

If an office document has other documents assigned to it (structure), it is possible to show this structure in the browser. The context menu Structure > Multi level > Graphical internal opens an additional browser tab where all available entries are displayed. The structure of a specific entry can be opened up then.
