File Replication

Key Features

The key features of the Data Replication Module can be divided into Module Applications and Manager Information required for the management of replication functions:

Module applications

Users without manager privileges will only come into contact with the File Replication Module (DFM) when adding files to a local vault as part of the check-in procedure.

For detailed information regarding the check-in and check out procedures, please refer to the FileServer section of this online documentation.
If the File Replication Module (DFM) is active, the selection of an appropriate vault is controlled by the program. Files are stored in a local vault.

If one or more files to be checked out of a vault are not available locally a request window will be displayed. The user must select either one of the two replication modes "1) online" or "2) batch" or alternatively, you may "3) Cancel" the current check out procedure.

The "1) online" mode:

A replication order is initiated immediately. All missing or obsolescent files are transferred from the local vault of their original distributed sites and are then stored in the vault of the recipient site.

The "2) Batch" mode:

The replication order is carried out at a later time specified in the batch process configuration. All missing or obsolescent files are transferred from the local vault of their original distributed sites and are then stored in the vault of the recipient site.

The "3) Cancel" mode:

Cancels the current file check out process.
