How to Perform a Change Operation on an Object referencing a Set

What to do:

In order to work through this example, you must have created the object ART-1450 Green Ink. For our example it is not important if this object has been created in an ad-hoc or non-ad-hoc process. Furthermore, you must have created a new work request. In our example the new work request is EWR-1510.
Please note that in this example the change operation is to create a new version of an existing object.
Select Start > Items.
The Item mask is opened.

Search for the item ART-1450.

Change to the status 220 | Approved.
Activate the corresponding work set EWR-1500.

In the Work Set mask click the Complete button in order to release the work set.
A mask is opened where a validity period has to be inserted in.

In the Valid From field enter a validity date for the work set and click OK to confirm.
The work set EWR-1500 is set to the state 270 | Complete.
To update the Item mask click .
The item ART-1450 is automatically set to the state 230 | Released.
Change the status of the item ART-1450 to 240 | In Change.
On the Item mask of ART-1450 select Revisioning > Create New Revision > Without Structure from the context menu.
A new Item mask of ART-1450 is opened.
In the Work Order field select the work order EWR-1510.
The work request / work order EWR-1510 is needed as a reference work order / work set for the final process of creating an item. The work order EWR-1500 cannot be used again since it was used up for the completion of the work set EWR-1500.
To save the entry click .

A new version of the item ART-1450 has been created.

The predecessor version of the item ART-1450 will become invalid when the work set EWR-1510 is completed and the new item version has become effective. The validity is indicated in the Effectivity field of the item mask.
Please note that a new object version can only be created if the referenced work set is in state 110 | In Work.
Instead of creating a new work request EWR-1510, it is also possible to add an additional set to the work order EWR-1500 and reference this work set.
