Workflow

How to Align Components

What to do:

In order to work through this example you must have completed the example Add and Connect Components and must have added another activity to the workflow process.
In this example the activity Distribute was added to the workflow process between the activity Create and the stop sign.
Components of a workflow process can be aligned in order to structure the process and make it more readable for the user.
  The following functions are available:

Button Menu Command Description
Vertical Alignment Components are centered vertically
Horizontal Alignment Components are centered horizontally
Left Alignment Components are aligned to the left
Right Alignment Components are aligned to the right
Top Alignment Components are aligned on a common top line
Bottom Alignment Components are aligned on an common base line
Horizontal Distribute Components are regularly aligned horizontally
Vertical Distribute Components are regularly aligned vertically
The functions are either listed in the toolbar Alignment or in the menu Edit > Alignment.
If the Alignment toolbar is disabled, select View > Toolbars > Alignments to enable the toolbar.
The following example displays one function described above.
Mark both the activities Create and Distribute.

Click in order to align the activities to the right.

The activities Create and Distribute are aligned to the right.

The buttons listed above are exclusively used to align single components of a workflow process. In order to align the whole workflow process select Options>Horizontal Layout or Vertical Layout!

The Alignments toolbar can be enabled/disabled by activating/deactivating the corresponding checkbox (View > Toolbars > Alignments).
