Oracle CEP®
Development Environment for Eclipse

Installation

There are two options for installing the Oracle CEP tools--directly through the Update Site or Download for Offline Installation. Both of these options assume that Eclipse and other requirements are already installed.

Update Site

To install directly from the update site:

  1. Open Eclipse and navigate to the Help > Software Updates > Find and Install... menu
  2. Select Search for new features to install
  3. Select New Remote Site...
  4. Enter any name you like, then enter http://download.oracle.com/technology/software/cep-ide/11/ in the URL field and click OK
  5. Make sure the new site is selected in the Sites to include in search list and click Finish
  6. In the resulting dialog, make sure to uncheck the checkbox that says Show the latest version of a feature only so that you can see the Eclipse 3.3 version of the plugins (as opposed to the newer Eclipse 3.5 version)
  7. Select the category Oracle CEP Tools for Eclipse 3.3 and click Next
  8. Continue through and complete the wizard
  9. Make sure to select the option to restart Eclipse once the installation is complete

Download for Offline Installation

To download the plug-ins and install offline:

  1. Download the update site archive
  2. Open Eclipse and navigate to the Help > Software Updates > Find and Install... menu
  3. Select Search for new features to install
  4. Select New Archived Site...
  5. Enter any name you like, then select the archive downloaded in step 1 and click OK
  6. Make sure the new site is selected in the Sites to include in search list and click Finish
  7. In the resulting dialog, make sure to uncheck the checkbox that says Show the latest version of a feature only so that you can see the Eclipse 3.3 version of the plugins (as opposed to the newer Eclipse 3.5 version)
  8. Select the category Oracle CEP Tools for Eclipse 3.3 and click Next
  9. Continue through and complete the wizard
  10. Make sure to select the option to restart Eclipse once the installation is complete
