The Flight Recorder Control View

The Flight Recorder control view allows you to manage recordings that are already in progress or have already been completed. Whenever you start a recording on an attached JRockit instance, that connection appears on the control view. By default, the control view appears after you start a recording, It appears at the bottom of the Flight Recorder GUI and lists all running JVM connections for which a recording is either in progress or has been made and, under the JVM name, lists the recordings being made on that JVM.

The Flight Recorder control view shows the following information about each recording:

• The recording name.

• The amount of time remaining for the recording. If the recording has finished, this value will be 0; for continuous recordings, this will be infinity (•).

In addition to monitoring recordings from the control view, you can use the control view for:

• Starting a Flight Recording

• Disconnecting a Recording

• Stopping a Recording
