At the top of each tab is a graphical range navigator that allows you to select the range of events for which you want to display recording information (Figure: The Range Navigator).
The range navigator is a timeline that shows all events in a recording that pertain to the data displayed on the selected tab; for example, the range navigator on the Code tab group's Hot Methods tab will show just those events that apply to hot methods in the code. The events are indicated by a vertical lines that vary in height, based on the number of events. A longer vertical line indicates that more events have occurred at that point in the recording. As fewer events happen, the vertical lines will have more space between them. If no events occurred, no lines appear.
At each end of the range navigator are the range selection bars. You can grab these bars with your pointer and drag them inward or outward to change the range of events displayed on the tab. The range selection bars are activated when you hover your pointer over either end of the navigator, as shown in Figure: Range Navigator with Range Selection Bars.

In addition to the range selection bars, you can adjust the range of data by selecting one of the buttons above the navigator window. These buttons are described in Table: Range Navigator Buttons.
