As a Black Box

Like its aeronautic namesake, the JFR provides an account of events leading up to a “catastrophic” failure of a system or application. The content of this black box is dumped to a file and can be used for post-mortem analysis. Examples of such events include a JVM crash, unexpected application termination, or a power failure.
