Use this page to enter a name and display name for your provider. A provider is an interface to Oracle9iAS portal that represents and manages the portlets it owns.
After you create the provider, a Portal Administrator can register it with an Oracle9iAS Portal instance. A Page Designer can then add the portlets owned by the provider to pages built using the Portal instance.
You can also add the finished provider to a group. Provider groups enable you to organize your providers in the mid-tier navigator, and simplify registration when you are ready to register them with an Oracle9iAS Portal instance.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Provider Name | Enter a unique name for the portlet provider. The Name is used internally to create the provider.xml file. Oracle9iAS Portal will also use this name to register the provider. The name cannot include special characters or blank spaces. |
| Display Name | Enter a display name for the portlet provider. The display name identifies the provider in the Navigator and in Oracle9iAS Portal. For example, the provider's display name appears in the Oracle9iAS Portal repository of portlets that can be added to a page. |
