Add Provider: Name and Display Name

Use this page to identify the provider you are adding to the provider group. A provider is an interface to Oracle9iAS portal that represents and manages the portlets it owns. You can add a provider that was created in the current mid-tier or a remote one. Providers in the current mid-tier are listed in the mid-tier navigator.

To add a provider from the current mid-tier, enter its name on this page, or click List of Values icon. to select it from a list of providers in the current mid-tier. Then click Next to continue to the next wizard steps. All of the remaining fields in the wizard will display values currently defined for the provider. You can accept these or update them before finishing the wizard.

If you want to add a provider from a remote mid-tier, you will need to supply all of the field values yourself.

Name

To add a provider from the current mid-tier, click List of Values icon.. The list of values displays all providers in the current mid-tier that you can add to the group.

To add a provider from a remote mid-tier, enter its name. The name should be the same as its provider.xml file name.

Display Name Enter a display name for the portlet provider. The display name identifies the provider in the mid-tier navigator and in Oracle9iAS Portal. For example, the provider's display name appears in the Oracle9iAS Portal repository of portlets that can be added to a page.
