A hierarchy view contains one row for each dimension member in the hierarchy. Any dimension members and levels that are not part of the named hierarchy are excluded from the view. Analytic Workspace Manager creates one view for each hierarchy.
Dimension Name
Identifies the base dimension for the view.
Hierarchy Name
Identifies the hierarchy that is represented in the view.
View Name
A simple name for the view. Hierarchy views initially have a name of dimension_hierarchy_VIEW, which you can change in this text box.
The table describes the hierarchy view:
Column Name: List the columns of the view. Hierarchy views have a column for the dimension key, the names of the levels, the parent member, each level in the hierarchy, and each attribute.
Data Type: Identifies the data type of the column, such as VARCHAR2 or NUMBER.
Object Type: Identifies each column as a key, a level name, a parent, a hierarchy level, or a unique key attribute.
