The Analytic Workspace Manager window is divided into left and right panes. A navigation tree is in the left pane, and property sheets for the object selected in the tree are displayed in the right pane. The user interface also includes menus, wizards, dialogs, and a toolbar.
You expand a folder in the structure by clicking on the '+' icon, and you collapse the folder by clicking the '-'. Right-clicking on a folder displays a menu that is specific to that type of folder.
Each time you expand a folder, the Analytic Workspace Manager accesses the database to obtain up-to-date information.
As you select folders or objects in the navigation tree, the selection's properties are displayed in the property inspector at the right side of the application window.
As you navigate, the property inspector displays the properties (that is, characteristics) of the selected object in a property sheet on the right side of the application window. A property sheet is also presented in a dialog box when you create a new object, so that you can specify the object's characteristics.
In the dialog box for creating a new object, you can update all of the relevant fields in the property sheet. After you have made your specifications, click Create to create the object in the analytic workspace.
