A calculation plan enables you to develop various types of calculations and determine the order in which they are executed. The types of calculations are:
Aggregation: An allocation defines the aggregation rules specifically for one or more measures within the cubes and controls advanced settings.
Allocation: An allocation calculates lower-level data from upper-level data by distributing it down a hierarchical dimension. Budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis are the most common uses for allocation.
Forecast: A forecast uses statistical methods to predict future performance of a measure based on its past results.
Each calculation that you define is a step in the calculation plan.
