The status identifies the selection of data that will be used in the calculation. The following are some guidelines for selecting the status for different types of calculations.
Aggregation: Always aggregate from the base level. If the data is stored at a higher level, then allocate down to the base level first. For a compressed cube, all dimension members must be selected.
Allocation: Select the source members, which contain the data to be aggregated, and the target members, which will receive the allocated values.
Forecast: Select a single level for each dimension. You can allocate and aggregate the forecast data to other levels in separate steps.
Choose
Specifies the dimension from which members are selected.
From
Specifies the name of the hierarchy to use for the dimension. This box is not available if the dimension has no hierarchies.
Displays a list of available members for the specified dimension and hierarchy. Select one or more members, then use the shuttle buttons to move them to Selected Members subtab.
The Available Members subtab contains the following buttons:
Collapse All
Collapses all available members to the highest hierarchical level. This button is available only when a hierarchy is specified in the From box.
Expand All
Expands all available members to the lowest hierarchical level. This button is available only when a hierarchy is specified in the From box.
Find
Displays the Find Members dialog box, which allows you to search for particular members from a complete list.
Displays a list of condition templates for the specified dimension. Click the underlined text to see a list of choices. The Edit Step button displays the Edit Step dialog box, which may be more convenient for making extensive changes to a template.
Displays the list of steps for the selected dimension. T edit a step, click the underlined text or the Edit Step button. A check mark indicates that a step is enabled, that is, it will be used to select or eliminate dimension members.
Lists the members selected by the enabled steps.
