Locating Source Objects

You can use filters to help you find specific objects in the relational schema tree of the Mapping window. When a schema has only a small number of objects, you can find them quite easily. However, you may have difficulty finding a particular object in a schema that contains hundreds or thousands of objects. You can apply filters to the list of tables, views, and synonyms.

To apply a filter to the list of objects:

  1. Open the Mapping window and expand the folder for the schema that contains your data sources.

  2. Right-click the Tables, Views, or Synonyms folder, and choose Create Filtered List from the menu.

  3. Enter all of part of the name you are looking for.

Click Help on the Create Filtered List dialog box for additional information.

To change a filter:

  1. Right-click the Tables, Views, or Synonyms folder, and choose Edit Filtered List from the menu.

  2. Enter all of part of the new name you are looking for.

To remove a filter:

  1. Right-click the Tables, Views, or Synonyms folder, and choose Remove Filtered List from the menu.

All of the objects of that type in the schema will reappear in the list.
