You are prompted to run scripts as root that complete configuration of the Oracle software. The scripts that you are prompted to run can vary, depending on whether you have completed previous Oracle software installations on your system. If this is the first time that Oracle software has been installed on this system, then you are prompted to run the script that creates the Oracle Inventory.
In a separate terminal window, run the following script as the root user:
oracle_inventory_directory/oraInstroot.sh
For Oracle Real Application Clusters installations, run the script on all of the nodes on which you are installing the software.
Note: Do not exit from the Installer to run the script. Exiting the install removes this script.
The script creates the Oracle Inventory pointer file, oraInst.loc,
in either the /var/opt/oracle or the /etc directory,
depending on your platform. It also creates the Oracle Inventory directory with
the correct group owner and permissions.
For all installations, you are prompted to run the script that completes configuration
steps that must be done as the root user.
In a separate terminal window, run the following script as the root user:
oracle_home_directory/root.sh
For Oracle Real Application Clusters installations, run the script on all of the nodes on which you are installing the software.
Note: Do not exit from the Installer to run the script.
