Depending on your installation environment, Oracle Universal Installer may not be able to determine the host name for the host on which you are installing your product. In a cluster environment, Oracle Real Application Clusters, for example, a particular host may be acting as the load balancer for multiple hosts.
If OUI detects multiple network cards, with each using a different host name, you must select one of the network cards from the list, in addition to providing the associated name for the local host for the installation.
Network Interface Information: Select the appropriate combination of host name, IP address, and NetworkInterface information for the network cards discovered by OUI and presented in the list. This field only appears when multiple network cards have been detected.
