Use to create a connection to the Oracle BPM MetaData Service (MDS) repository.

A BPM MDS connection needs a connection to the Oracle WebLogic Server where the MDS repository resides for Oracle SOA (Application Server connection), a connection to a Metadata Service Server (SOA MDS connection), and a database connection to where SOA MDS is installed.

Create Connection In
Choose IDE Connections to create a connection that can be used by more than one application.

Connection Name
Enter a name for the BPM MDS connection. The connection name must be a valid Java identifier, and as the name and connection are global across your JDeveloper installation, choose an appropriate and unique name.

Application Server
Select an application server connection from the dropdown list or click the Add icon to create one (How?) This is the connection to Oracle WebLogic Server where Oracle SOA is installed.

Override Application Server user/password checkbox
Select if you do not want to use the user name and password of the selected application server to authenticate the BPM MDS connection. Then enter the user name and password in the fields below the checkbox.

Username
Enter the user name to use to authenticate the BPM MDS connection.

Password
Enter the password to use to authenticate the BPM MDS connection.

SOA MDS
Select a SOA MDS connection from the dropdown list or click the Add icon to create one (How?). This is a connection to a Metadata Service Server.

Test Connection
Click to test the BPM MDS connection.

Status
Display area for the status of the connection test. Success! indicates that JDeveloper has created the connection. Any other message indicates that the connection has failed: Check the values entered in this dialog. Also check the status of the application server connection and SOA MDS connection used in this dialog.
