Query Formulation

In the 'Query' text field enter the search phrase.

Select the desired search fields from a list of available XML record sections. Selecting 'Whole Record' will search in every field.

Select the desired search type. The 'context' search is a regular keyword matching method, extended in Oracle Text via the enchancements such as word proximity, fuzzy match and term weight. The 'theme' search utilizes the Oracle Knowledge Base and theme index to report matches best related to the query topic without requiring the actual query terms in the matching documents. Note that selecting the 'theme' query will reset the Search Fields to 'Whole Record'.

Query syntax examples:

Combine two phrases. (Select 'Abstract Text' and 'Article Title' search fields and the 'Context' search type.)
