To Change the Password for a User in the Admin Realm

To change the password for the current administrator account, see To Change the Administrator Password. If the admin-realm has more than one user, you can also change the password for other users.

Encrypting the administrator password enhances security of your application. Consult Chapter 1, Administering System Security, in Oracle GlassFish Server 3.1 Security Guide for more detailed information on security procedures.

  1. Under the Configurations node, expand the server instance or cluster configuration for which you want to modify an administration password.
  2. Expand the Security node.
  3. Expand the Realms node.
  4. Select the admin-realm node.

    The Edit Realm page opens.

  5. On the Edit Realm page, click the Manage Users button.

    The Admin Users page opens.

  6. On the Admin Users page, click the user for whom you want to add or change the password.

    The Edit File Realm User page opens.

  7. In the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, type the new password.
  8. Click Save.
