Oracle9i Database Generic Documentation Addendum contains supplemental information pertaining to the generic documentation set for Oracle9i, Release 2 (9.2). This document is intended for people who use the Oracle generic documentation set.

This section provides one correction to Oracle9i Database Migration, Release 2 (9.2).
In Chapter 6 "Upgrading Your Applications," the Oracle9i Database Migration guide incorrectly states that "Statically Linked Applications Do Not Need to be Relinked" in Chapter 6. In fact, statically linked applications must be relinked for both major and minor releases.
This section provides one correction to Oracle Data Guard Concepts and Administration, Release 2 (9.2).
Oracle Data Guard Concepts and Administration (Part No. A96653-02) incorrectly states that there is no default value for the NET_TIMEOUT attribute on the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter.
The documentation should say: The NET_TIMEOUT attribute is optional. However, if you do not specify the NET_TIMEOUT attribute it will be set to 180 seconds, but the primary database can still stall. To avoid this situation, specify a small, nonzero value for the NET_TIMEOUT attribute so the primary database can continue operation after the user-specified timeout interval expires when waiting for status from the network server.
