Suite and its documented functionality.
This document contains the following sections:
This release notes addendum provides information that is
missing from the Oracle Collaboration Suite Release Notes for Version 9.0.3,
and is intended to be used in conjunction with the release notes.
Oracle Corporation periodically updates these notes as new
information becomes available. The latest version can be found at Oracle
Technology Network at http://otn.oracle.com
Our goal is to make Oracle products, services, and supporting documentation accessible to the disabled community. Oracle Collaboration Suite for Version 9.0.3, supports accessibility features. To make best use of these accessibility features, Oracle Corporation recommends the following software configuration:

This section contains component issues and workarounds.
If your Oracle Calendar server installation fails, check
for the existence of a /users/unison directory. Delete this directory and
all its contents, then try installing the calendar server again.
The Solaris patch 1008827-12 must be installed before installing
the Oracle Calendar Web client.
The following Solaris patches must be installed before installing 1008827-12:
You cannot upload an attachment with a title longer than
41 characters.
Entering 24 in the Time between fields of the Suggest Date
& Time page results in an Internal Server error. This only occurs when
using the 24-hour time format.
Each Web client installation only supports calendar sever
nodes with common settings. To support a calendar server node with different
settings, you must install another instance of the Web client.
Whenever the Oracle Calendar server is restarted the midtier
OHS must be restarted as well. If you do not restart the OHS, the Web client
will not be able to connect to the Calendar server.
The oesucr filename -change
command does not not work if user has server side rules.
To enable the command, delete server side rules through the
Thin Client, before running the oesucr command to change user's
e-mail id. Once the e-mail id has been changed, the server side rules recreate
through the Thin Client.
In the Thin Client, if a user is over quota and they have
enabled the preference to move deleted messages into the trash folder,
they cannot delete the messages to lower their quota.
The workaround is to disable the trash folder through the
Preferences tab. This enables the user to delete messages by marking them
as deleted and compacting folder.
If you successfully log on with your user name and try to
log on at another time with your user ID, you may get a "User not found
on this server" error message.
Workaround: Try logging on a second time with your
user ID. You should not encounter any problems logging on with your user
ID the second time or any time after that.
You can find additional and updated documentation and other
information on Oracle Wireless & Voice through the Oracle Technology

The mail module was set to a specific encoding when shipped
(UTF-8). This encoding does not properly save .wav recordings to files.
ISO-8859-1 encoding is required to accomplish this. Change the encoding
in the input parameters for the mail module (INPUT_ENCODING parameter).
There are two parameters in the mail module which must be set correctly in order for the voice gateway to work with audio attachments. They are:
Ensure that you set a user's default language before that
user completes the Oracle Wireless & Voice setup. If a user's default
language is changed after the user has completed the Oracle Voice and Wireless
setup, then that user may not be able to change their Oracle Voice and
Wireless preferences.
This version of Oracle Wireless & Voice (included in
Oracle Collaboration Suite) does not support creation of Master Alerts
and Master Services using the Oracle Wireless & Voice webtool.
The telephone number for voice access to Oracle Collaboration
Suite is contained in the welcome.uix file, and is displayed on
the right-hand side of the interface. Administrators must change the placeholder
number (1-800-###-####) to the real telephone number appropriate for their
installation, or comment out that section of the file if their instance
of Oracle Collaboration Suite is not configured for voice access.
Oracle Files Online wireless application works with a Web-based
Distributed Authoring and Versioning-compliant file server. Because the
Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol is extended from
the HTTP protocol, and HTTP 1.1 RFC does not have a specification for authenticating
users with multibyte usernames, access from the wireless application for
such users on the file server is not supported. If you want wireless access,
use single byte file server usernames.
Oracle Enterprise Manager displays all of the processes that can be managed for a middle tier machine. When accessing the Oracle Enterprise Manager page and clicking on a middle tier machine, Oracle Wireless & Voice will show a red down arrow. The reason for this is that the Oracle Wireless & Voice server has not been started. To start the Oracle Wireless & Voice server, from your browser, point to:
This automatically starts the Oracle Wireless & Voice
server. Once the Wireless Server starts, you must also start the Messaging
Server, Performance Monitor, and PIM Dispatcher.
In this release, users cannot create new Calendar entries
through the voice interface.
If you plan to have your users access the Oracle Wireless & Voice setup wizard directly (that is, without going through the Oracle Collaboration Suite Portal home page first), then you must explicitly specify where users should navigate once they have completed the Oracle Wireless & Voice wizard. By default, if users access the wizard from the portal, they will be returned to the portal home page. If users do not access the wizard from the portal, you must specify the return-to URL of your choice in the marconi.config file. For example:
portal=http://my.company.com/homepage
Note that the default behavior is equivalent to:
portal=http://<portal_host>:<portal_port>/pls/portal/portal.home
The Async Server Kernal feature is not available for Business Directory and Driving Directions. The feature should be disabled for users. To it for Business Directory and Driving Directions:
To access Oracle Files through Async Server Kernal, users
must have their display name attribute set in Oracle Internet Directory.
If a user does not have this attribute set, the application will display
a service error when one attempts to access Oracle Files.
This section describes documentation issues in Oracle Collaboration
Suite.
Users of the complete sample search application viewing the
help screen in Japanese may get a File Not Found error.
To resolve this, redeploy Ultra Search OC4J applications:
> cd <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/ultrasearch/webapp/ > <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/dcm/bin/dcmctl redeployApplication -f ultrasearch_admin.ear -a UltrasearchAdmin -co OC4J_Portal
cd <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/ultrasearch/webapp/ > <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/dcm/bin/dcmctl redeployApplication -f sample.ear -a UltrasearchQuery -co OC4J_Portal
> cd <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/ultrasearch/ > <MIDTIER_ORACLE_HOME>/dcm/bin/dcmctl redeployApplication -f ultrasearch_portlet.ear -a UltrasearchPortlet -co OC4J_Portal
Oracle Collaboration Suite Installation Guide incorrectly
refers to the Unified Messaging Store as the Oracle Email Store.
Oracle Collaboration Suite Installation Guide incorrectly
states that Oracle Files supports an Oracle9i release 1 (9.0.1.1.1)
database.
In order to integrate Oracle Files with Oracle Workflow you
must use an Oracle9i release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) database or the Files
Store available on the Oracle Collaboration Suite Information Storage CD-ROM.
Table 2-14 on page 2-17 of Oracle Collaboration Suite
Installation Guide is incorrect. The correct information is as follows:
The "System Configuration" appendix of the Oracle Calendar
Server Administrator's Guide incorrectly refers to the Solaris kernel parameter
max_nprocs as max_nproc.
Issue #01715 should be replaced by the following:
Outlook 2002 only: The pop-up menu displayed after
right-clicking a meeting in the Inbox or Calendar folder may contain duplicated
entries. Suggested workaround: right-click the meeting again. (#01290)
The Oracle Calendar Web client includes two Toolbars. The
one that appears at the top is referred to as the Global Toolbar. The one
that appears just below the Global Toolbar is referred to as the Calendar
Toolbar.
The Global Toolbar contains the Return to Portal, Preferences,
Logout and Online Help icons. The Calendar Toolbar contains all other Calendar
icons.
References to Day View, Week View and Month View should be
replaced by Daily View, Weekly View and Monthly View.
The Date Control Bar does not appear between the date and
the Agenda's user name. It appears in the center of the top section of
the Agenda to the right of the date.
The hyperlinks sent with Entries are only displayed in the
Daily List, Weekly List and Monthly View. The Planner Views do not display
hyperlinks.
You are not requested to enter your e-mail address on the
Preferences page. The Web client uses the e-mail address associated with
your user account.
On the Edit Access Rights page, you must click Customize
before you can modify a user's access rights.
You must click Customize before you can select or
deselect the Can invite me to Entries checkbox.
To access the Manage Groups page, click the Manage Groups
icon on the Calendar Toolbar.
References of Edit Preferences icon should be replaced by
Preferences icon.
To access the Preferences page, click the Preferences icon
on the Global Toolbar.
The information describing how the number of cells, rows
and columns are displayed in the Printing your Daily View, Printing your
Weekly View and Printing your Monthly View sections can vary depending
on your selected preferences.
References to the Home icon should be replaced by My Agenda
icon.
