This is a text description of Figure 5-1, "Oracle Net Communication to the AS/400".

This illustration of Oracle Net communication is adequately described in the "Oracle Net for AS/400 Architecture" section of the chapter, which is presented with the figure.

Two Clients are shown connecting to an Oracle database server by means of either Oracle Net and any protocol.

The Oracle database server connects by means of an Oracle Net TCP/IP connection to the AS/400 computer, which is currently running an Oracle Net Listener, Oracle net TCP/IP, Prestarted Job 1, and Prestarted Job 2.
