Convert Plan from Traditional Valuation to Point in Time Valuation

Conversion to Point in Time valuation is a multi-step process to revise the database and configure plans to use Point in Time valuation. This conversion has been designed so that converting existing plans does not require any additional processing steps. The Point in Time Conversion process is designed to complete within a 48-hour time window, enabling the conversion of all policies during a weekend.
Once a plan is converted to Point in Time valuation, it cannot be changed back to Traditional valuation.
Configuration Steps
Author note: this is a rough, work in progress procedure that lacks details that will need to be added from experience configuring a conversion.

For each plan being converted to Point in Time valuation:

Create an override of the PointInTimeValuation rule at the plan level.

Create an override of the WriteValuationElements business rule at the plan level.

To convert existing policies that allow mixed valuation methods, you must establish a transition date.
Important: For existing policies that use Point in Time valuation with mixed methods, when activities with valuation configuration are processed, an error will be returned if the date is missing.

For a plan configured to used mixed methods, the transition date associated with each policy must be populated by inserting an AsValuationTransition record (containing the transition date) for each policy .
Important: The team that performs the conversion will be responsible for inserting the records correctly into the database.

Configure the PointInTimeValuation column on the AsPlan table to indicate that Point in Time valuation is to be used for all policies on the plan.
- When a new policy is created on a transitioned plan, the transition date will be set automatically to the plan effective date minus one day.
