The power user can set the following preferences for the
Tag Cloud component.
- Data source controls:
Select from the available data sources in the drop-down list, and then click
Update data source to bind your selection to the
component.
- Keyword attribute
name: Type the name of the attribute the tags will be drawn from. If you
enter an attribute that is not enabled for multi-select, it will not support
user refinements, and you will see the following message:
- Enable end user
refinements: Check to allow end users to drill down on tags in the tag
cloud. If the attribute is not enabled for multi-select, this option is not
available.
- Tag weighting
algorithm: Choose one of the following to determine the significance of a
tag:
- Frequency: If
this option is selected, the tags in the tag cloud are sized to represent the
number of records associated with the related attribute value. The terms with
the largest font size are associated with the greatest number of records.
- Relevancy: If
this option is selected, tags in the tag cloud are sized to represent the
number of records associated with the tag, and then are weighted relative to
their uniqueness in the matching record set. Terms that appear throughout the
index are less relevant, and appear smaller, than those that appear only in the
matching records. This strategy is recommended if certain terms appear on most
records in the index, to ensure that these common terms are displayed less
prominently in the tag cloud.
- Maximum number of
keywords: Specify the maximum number of attribute values to display in the
Tag Cloud component. The default is 30.
