Developer tasks in the Discovery Framework

Developer tasks include both data source configuration and component customization.

Data source configuration tasks include:

Modifying data sources.
Adjusting security.
Customizing how data sources interact with each other.

Component customization tasks include:

Adding or modifying portlet components based on the EndecaPortlet class, using the Discovery Framework Component SDK.
Localizing components.

Note: Before modifying data sources, make sure to read the section "About data source configuration" in the Discovery Framework Power User's Guide. This chapter describes the default interaction model between related data sources.
