Custom Section Quick Search
Custom Section Quick search has been added. This allows users to search for custom sections based on the extended attribute name and value.
The user who was searching for custom data had to always specify the custom section/row/column pairing to find a particular custom data value, even if that attribute was distinct. This was time consuming and difficult for the user to understand.
This technique also did not allow the user to search across custom sections, some use cases call for a different custom section to be created for specifications in different categories or regions. For example, when using custom sections to display and calculate regional fact panels, if you wanted to find all Nutrient Profiles that contain the attribute Fiber greater than 5g, you would have to perform a separate search for each possible section the attribute could be in. This could be extremely time-consuming depending on how many regions you support.
While the extended attribute search was available, this control performed a search across the simple extended attributes grid and all custom section attributes. The extended attributes also had to be classed as simple, allowing users to potentially add attributes to the simple grid on specifications.
Create a tool that
searches extended attributes existing only in custom sections; across all
custom sections
A new section has
been added to the additional attributes search popup, Custom Sections (Quick).

This search will find
all specifications that contain the “Adhesives” attribute = “Glue” within any
custom section.
New search criteria
is added using the standard Add New button, but instead of having to give the
section/row/column name, the user only needs to select the Extended Attribute
they wish to search for. This new search
ability places even more importance on the name chosen for the extended attribute. All extended attributes should be named with
a descriptive name users will recognize or understand.
