You can change the user ID for a user.

The maximum number of characters that a user ID can contain is 50. A user ID cannot contain spaces or any of the following special characters:

  • Asterisk (*)
  • Backslash (\)
  • Number sign (#)
  • Question mark (?)
  • Slash (/)
  • Tilde (~)

Before you begin. To perform this procedure, your role must include the Manage Users and Access privilege. To allow users to change their email address or user ID, you must set up the Sign In and Password Control feature. For instructions, see Defining Your Company's Password Controls.
