Product Features

The Brocade Ultra Edge M3000 Router interconnects FICON fabrics over extended distances, using a new or existing IP or ATM network. The Brocade Ultra Edge M3000 Router can be customized and configured as 1x1 and 2x2 configurations in an IP, or ATM WAN implementation.

The primary features of the UltraNet Edge 3000 router include:

The Brocade Ultra Edge M3000 Router is supported in mainframe environments only, it is supported for use in an open system environment.

Minimum Software Requirements

The Brocade Ultra Edge M3000 Router requires UltraNet Edge 3000 Software version 3.2.

The UltraNet Edge 3000 operating system (OS) version is not backward compatible with previous versions. When the OS is upgraded on one end of the network, it must also be upgraded on the remote end. For more information about software requirements, see the README file delivered with the patch.

The section lists the minimum software levels for this release.

Compatible Operating System Configurations

The UltraNet Edge 3000 operating system (OS) version is not backward compatible with previous versions. If one Edge unit in the network requires a hardware upgrade, the software must also be upgraded to OS version. When the OS is upgraded on one end of the network, it must also be upgraded on the remote end.


Supported Hardware

The following switches, storage platforms, host bus adapters (HBAs), and servers are supported by the Brocade Ultra Edge M3000 Router.
