This document contains important information about the Firmware Version E/OSc 9.1, which is used with the following:
Read this document so that you are aware of issues or requirements that can affect the installation and operation of the Firmware Version E/OSc 9.1 in a Sun storage area network (SAN).
This document contains the following sections:

Other McDATA products in the same fabric as E/OSc version 9.1 must be at a minimum revision level for proper fabric operation. The minimum firmware levels are listed below, but it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest shipping versions of each release (check with McDATA Customer Support for latest version).
Although products may co-exist in a fabric running different levels of E/OSc firmware, all products must be at the same major functional release level for optimum fabric stability and robustness.

This section provides instructions for downloading and installing patch 122187-02 for Firmware Version E/OSc 9.1.

Use the following procedure to retrieve the patches for your OS and the patch for E/OSc version 9.1.
1. Access the SunSolve web site at:
http://sunsolve.sun.com
2. Accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement.
3. Click Patches and Updates under the Support category.
4. Under PatchFinder, type the patch ID, 122187, and click Find Patch.
Do not type the -xx revision number. PatchFinder automatically finds the latest patch.
5. Verify that you have retrieved the correct patch.
6. Print the README file that contains installation instructions and any special guidelines.
7. Download the patch by clicking on either HTTP or FTP in the following line:
Download Patch (nn,nnn,nnn bytes) HTTP FTP
8. When you have finished downloading the patch, install the patch by following the instructions in the patch README file.
The following bug has been reported against this firmware release.
EFCM Basic (embedded web server) could take up to 12 minutes to complete an upgrade from E/OSc 8.02.00 to E/OSc 9.01.00. (McDATA PR 79452)
