Trusted Solaris 7 Materials

The Trusted Solaris 7 package includes the following materials:

• Trusted Solaris 7 Software CD--Each package contains the appropriate CD for one of the nine different platform/locale combinations on which the Trusted Solaris 7 operating environment can be installed:

  • SPARC Architecture (C locale)

  • SPARC Architecture (Japanese locale)

  • SPARC Architecture (Korean locale)

  • Intel Architecture (C locale)

  • Intel Architecture (Japanese locale)

  • Intel Architecture (Korean locale)

  • Sun Enterprise^TM 10000 Architecture (C locale)

  • Sun Enterprise 10000 Architecture (Japanese locale)

  • Sun Enterprise 10000 Architecture (Korean locale)

• Trusted Solaris 7 Documentation CD--Contains the AnswerBook2(TM) server software and four collections of online documentation:

  • Trusted Solaris 7 AnswerBook Collection (805-8064-10)

  • Trusted Solaris 7 Reference Manual Collection (805-8065-10)

  • Solstice AdminSuite 2.3 & AutoClient 2.1 AnswerBook Collection--Documents the Solstice tools used for Trusted Solaris administration

  • Solaris 7 8/99 on Sun Hardware AnswerBook Collection--Contains administration manuals that may be helpful to Trusted Solaris administrators.

  There are CDs for three locales:

  • Trusted Solaris 7 Documentation CD (C locale)

  • Trusted Solaris 7 Documentation CD (Japanese locale)

  • Trusted Solaris 7 Documentation CD (Korean locale)

  Note -

  The Trusted Solaris environment is based on the Solaris 7 8/99 environment, Common Desktop Environment (CDE) 3.1, and the Solstice AdminSuite 2.3 tools. Therefore, the Trusted Solaris documentation CD and the Solaris documentation CD described below contain manuals for the base and bundled products in addition to the Trusted Solaris manuals.

• Solaris 7 Documentation CD--Includes the base Solaris 7 documentation and the CDE 1.3 documentation to supplement the Trusted Solaris documentation. Only the documentation localized for the C locale is available in this package. Solaris 7 documentation for other locales can be purchased separately.

  Note -

  If you are displaying the online documentation from a Trusted Solaris server, you must install the version of the AnswerBook2 server software from the Trusted Solaris 7 Documentation CD. If you are displaying the documentation from a Solaris server, then install the AnswerBook2 server software from the Solaris 7 documentation CD.

• Netscape Communicator 4.51 CD--Contains the Netscape(TM) browser. The AnswerBook2 online documentation requires a web browser for viewing.

• Trusted Solaris Supplemental Software CD (E10000 only) --Contains packages for the following two software products needed for administering the Sun Enterprise 10000 server:

  • Alternate Pathing 2.2

  • SSP 3.1.1

• Solaris Device Configuration Assistant Diskette (Intel Architecture only)--Necessary for loading the Trusted Solaris operating environment onto the Intel Architecture platform.

• Trusted Solaris Installation and Configuration printed manual (805-8056-10)--Describes the planning and prerequisite knowledge necessary for installing and configuring the Trusted Solaris 7 operating environment. See description in next section.

• Trusted Solaris 7 Installation and Configuration on the Sun Enterprise 10000 printed manual (805-8110)--Describes how to install and configure Trusted Solaris 7 on the Sun Enterprise 10000.

• Trusted Solaris 7 Release Notes printed manual (805-8050)--Provides necessary information for the Trusted Solaris 7 operating environment. See description in next section.

• The Trusted Solaris 7 Roadmap printed manual (805-8051) --This document.
