Oracle® Rules Palette Release 9.1.0.0.0 E15811-01 |
The Rules Palette controls security for both the Rules Palette and for the Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) system.
Security for the Rules Palette is configured at the user level, where an administrator can add users to the database and create roles with specific privileges that, when assigned to those users, allow them to view and/or modify different sections of the Rules Palette based on the role they have been assigned. These sections include the administration pane, rules, and data dictionary. Please see the Rules Palette Security section below for information on setting-up and using the security functionality for the Rules Palette.
Configuration of OIPA security can limit access to fields, buttons, menu items and their associated screens and activities. Access to an entire screen can be denied, or users can have limited access to a screen. Limited access means that access to individual buttons on the screen can be granted or denied. Users can also be restricted from performing certain tasks at the activity level. Security in OIPA allows for multiple levels of restriction to be placed on different users of the system, from agents to service representatives and department managers.
