Segments

The Segment link from the left navigation menu allows you to add segments to your policy such as coverages, extensions and riders.  

 

For a Term Life plan, the first segment that you need to add is Base Coverage.  This identifies the amount of insurance coverage included in the policy.  You can also add segments that represent a feature or a rider.  To do this, follow the steps outlined below, selecting the rider you want from the drop down list.  You can also delete segments that are still in Pending status.

 

For an Annuity plan, the first segment that you need to add is Deferred Annuity.  

 

 

Steps to Add a Segment to a Policy

  1. Search for the appropriate policy.  Select the button to the right of the policy you want to work with.

  2. Select Segment from the left navigation menu.  The Segment screen will open.

  3. Select Add Segment from the Secondary menu and click the type of segment you want to add.  The type of segment you select will determine what fields appear on the Segment screen.  Only those fields that pertain to the coverage type you selected will be displayed.

  4. Enter the information for the segment.  

  5. Select Calculate when you have finished entering the segment information.  

  6. Select the Save button.

 

Note:  You must have at least one segment assigned to the policy before you can process activities.

 

 

 

Steps to Delete a Segment

  1. Open the policy that has the segment you want to delete.

  2. Select the Segments option from the left navigation menu.

  3. Select the trashcan icon to the right of the segment you want to delete.

  4. Select the Save button.

 

Note:  You can only delete segments on policies that have a status of Pending.
