Accidental Death and Dismemberment

An individual can elect to add insurance to cover him/her in the event of bodily injury or death due to accidental means (other than natural causes).  A predetermined schedule of payments is used to compensate the insured for this particular loss.

Typically this rider takes the AD&D benefit amount and calculates the rider charges. The benefit amount is reduced after the insured attains the age of 65.  The rider usually expires when the insured attains age 75.

The claim amount under this rider, when the life insured meets with an accident, depends on the level of injuries. This will be calculated as a percentage of the total rider benefit amount.

You can add an accidental death and dismemberment segment to a policy by selecting Add Segments on the Secondary menu.  Enter the benefit amount and the AD&D start date then click Calculate.

Note:  You must have a base coverage segment already applied to the policy before you add this segment.
