Appendix: FIFO Processing for Primary UOM in a License Plate Warehouse

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Warehouse Management system enables you to define a warehouse that processes license plates. You can use the Process Selection (P46093) program to enable a license plate warehouse to process transactions only in the primary unit of measure. During processing, the system does not look at the license plate unit of measure equal to the instruction unit of measure, but rather considers all license plates regardless of the unit of measure and performs breakdown of multi-level license plates.

License Plate FIFO Processing Scenarios

This section discusses four picking logic scenarios for license plate FIFO processing.

Picking Logic Scenario 1

This scenario is based upon the following description:

1. Sales order entered for 100 EA of a given item.

2. Lot commitment = Expiration Date.

3. Item UOM setup:

   • 1 PL = 2 CA

   • 1 CA = 25 EA

4. Picking instruction set for EA and descending quantity sort.

Suggestions for a License Plate Warehouse

The suggestions for picking logic scenario 1 are:

1. LPN3 suggested for 20 EA.

2. LPN4 suggested for 10 EA.

3. LPN1 suggested for 30 EA.

4. LPN2 suggested for 40 EA.

Based upon the criteria of this scenario, the system picks license plates regardless of the license plate unit of measure.

Picking Logic Scenario 2

This scenario is based upon the following description:

1. Sales order entered for 73 EA of a given item.

2. Lot commitment = Expiration Date.

3. Item UOM setup:

   • 1 PL = 2 CA

   • 1 CA = 25 EA

4. Picking instruction set for EA and ascending quantity pick of license plate number.

Suggestions for a License Plate Warehouse

The suggestions for picking logic scenario 2 are:

1. LPN4 suggested for 10 EA.

2. LPN3 suggested for 20 EA.

3. LPN1 suggested for 30 EA.

4. Full movement of LPN5 from parent LPN6 suggested for 5 EA.

5. Full movement of LPN7 from parent LPN6 suggested for 5 EA.

6. Full movement of LPN8 from parent LPN6 suggested for 3 EA

Based upon the criteria of this scenario, the system picks license plate numbers regardless of the license plate unit of measure and performs breakdown on a multi-level license plate.

Picking Logic Scenario 3

This scenario is based upon the following description:

1. Sales order entered for 110 EA of a given item.

2. Lot commitment = Expiration Date.

3. Item UOM setup:

   • 1 PL = 2 CA

   • 1 CA = 25 EA

4. Picking instruction set for EA and license plate number sorting.

Suggestions for a License Plate Warehouse

The suggestions for picking logic scenario 3 are:

1. LPN3 suggested for 20 EA.

2. LPN4 suggested for 10 EA.

3. LPN1 suggested for 30 EA.

4. LPN2 suggested for 40 EA.

5. Full movement of parent LPN6 suggested for 10 EA.

Based upon the criteria of this scenario, the system picks license plate numbers regardless of the license plate unit of measure.

Picking Logic Scenario 4

This scenario is based upon the following description:

1. Sales order entered for 100 EA of a given item.

2. Lot commitment = Expiration Date.

3. Branch Plant is set up as a license plate warehouse but the system has not built license plates. All item availability is in the item's primary unit of measure.

4. Item UOM setup:

   • 1 PL = 2 CA

   • 1 CA = 25 EA

5. Picking instruction set for EA.
