The latest release of the Rules Palette is available via Oracle E-Delivery. After you have downloaded the zip file to your local computer, unzip the file into the following folder:

Note: You may need to create a folder called Rules Palette within C:\Program Files\OracleInsurance if one does not already exist.

Downloading the Necessary jar Files

Before launching the Rules Palette, you must download the necessary proprietary and open source executable jar files required to successfully launch and operate the Palette.

It is recommended that a temporary subdirectory be created to house the downloaded zip files.

 The files needed include:

Open Source – These files are mandatory regardless of what type of database you are using.

  1. hibernate-3.2.1

  2. hibernate-annotations

  3. hibernate-tools

  4. jaxen-1.1-beta-7

Proprietary – These files may or may not be required dependant on what type of database you are using.

  1. db2jcc

  2. db2jcc_license_cisuz

  3. db2jcc_license_cu

  4. jtds

For some of the following downloads, you need to ensure the operating system being used allows the display of file extensions. You will be renaming some file extensions in the instructions below (ie. In Windows, select Tools, Folder Options, View and ensure the setting hide extensions for known file types is NOT checked).

1-3) Download hibernate-3.2.1, hibernate-annotations, and hibernate-tools from the

following site:

http://www.hibernate.org/ (Click the “Download” link on the left.)

4) Download jaxen-1.1-beta-7.jar from the following site:

http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/jaxen/jars/

IMPORTANT: You will only need db2jcc, db2jcc_license_cisuz, and db2jcc_license_cu jar files if you are running a DB2 database.

5-7) db2jcc, db2jcc_license_cisuz, and db2jcc_license_cu are included with the
purchase of the DB2 software. These files are not available for download.

(contact your IT department if you need assistance locating these files.)

Note: Make sure to note the exact location to which you save
the files, as you will need it when you set up your environment connections

IMPORTANT: You will only need the jtds jar file if you are running a SqlServer database.

8) Download jtds from the following site:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jtds/

Note: Make sure to note the exact location to which you save
the file, as you will need it when you set up your environment connections.

Now that all the appropriate files have been extracted to their destination directory, the temporary folder created to house the zip files may be deleted.

don't have one installed, it is advisable to download an extract tool).

  5. In the opened archive navigate to following location
