Rules Palette Release 8.1

Overview
The Rules Palette is a standalone application that can be used in conjunction with the Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) application. The Rules Palette provides straightforward functionality that assists with configuration tasks. The Rules Palette mitigates the need to know XML and features user-friendly visual configuration tools.
These release notes document enhancements and fixes that were made to the Oracle Insurance Rules Palette (OIPA) Release 8.1, 2009.

Updates
to Existing Functionality
As Global Rules Explorer: The AS Global Rules Explorer window was enhanced to display Transaction and Segment folders
Business Rule General Pane: TYPE value is now edited through the General Pane to be consistent with Transactions.
Dynamic Editor: Radio button interface was added.
Inquiry Screen: Right click options were added to the Inquiry Screen, which provide all available actions.
PolicyTabView: The PolicyTabView is now supported by visual editing.
Security: Addition of Palette Security - Security enhancements have been made to the Palette that define who can and cannot view or modify configurable items. This change also defines who can assign security permissions to Palette users. PAS and IVS passwords are encrypted before being stored to the file system.
Tool Bar Updates: New toolbar action was added so that the user can upload Business Rule Schemas through the Rules Palette.
New Functionality
Allocations - Allocations functionality was added to the Administration section of the Rules Palette.
Code Editor - As Code Table can be updated through the Palette. The Administration folder in As Admin Explorer now has a folder called Code Names. You can add and update codes from this location.
CopyBooks - Changed Rules Palette to support Copybooks in both Transactions and Business Rules. The Rules Palette can Copybook an entire transaction or an entire section of any pane (Fields, allocation, math, validation, spawn,...) which would include the main tags. It can also CopyBook an area of any section, but it would not include main tags. The Rules Palette can also CopyBook an entire rule or any section of a rule, including tags or not including tags. Also, made Copybook sections collapsible.
Exposed Computation Added Exposed Computation functionality to the Administration section of the Rules Palette. A folder called Exposed Computation is under the Administration folder in As Admin Explorer.
Fund Editor Funds can be updated through the Palette. The Administration folder in As Admin Explorer now has a folder called Funds. You can add and update funds from this location.
Map Groups - Map Group Editor was added to the Administration section of the Palette. You can access it from the As Admin Explorer.
Plan Groups
Rate Editor Rate Editor was added to the Administration section of the Rules Palette. It is accessible from the AS Admin Explorer window by opening the Administration folder and opening the Rates folder.
Remote Debugging Remote Debugging functionality was added to the Rules Palette.
Upload Browser for Report File Administrative functionality to upload reports is now supported in the Palette through the addition of a Browse and Upload button.
View History View History folder was added for rules, transactions and segments. This allows ViewOnly or OverWrite actions depending on if the rule is checked-in or checked-out.

Enhancements
Changed Palette name and Splash Screen.
Updated Search Results message to display “Results Returned 0” if no item is found or if item is spelled incorrectly in search box.
Added Refresh menu option for Segments when user right clicks on name.
When using Lookup, user can type the first few letters of a transaction and hit enter. Multiple transactions will display if they begin with the same letters.
Values Screen business rule is supported by visual editing.
Users can load JDBC files for environments that run on non-Oracle databases. There is a browse button in the environment creation process to allow users to browse for the appropriate JDBC jar file.
Added a text box for current schema in the environment creation wizard for DB2.
