Delete master data types

Before you begin

You cannot delete a master data type if any master data entries based on that type exist. You must first delete all the master data entries based on the master data type. See Delete master data entries.

Note: If you want to save the master data type and master data entry information before deleting it from the master data repository, you can export it to an XML file. You can then import it back, if needed. See Export, edit, and import master data.


To delete a master data type:

  1. Make sure no master data entries of this master data type exist (see above).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, click Master Data Types.
  3. On the Available Master Data Types page, select the check box next to the master data type you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete.
