An item is any type of object—other than a person—that exists in your portal, Collaboration, or Publisher. Items that appear in your search results can range from portal-specific objects like communities, groups, and Knowledge Directory folders to Collaboration-specific objects such as tasks, announcements, and discussion messages. Collaboration must be integrated with Pathways in order for Collaboration items to appear in your search results.
An item can also be a document that has been submitted to the Knowledge Directory using Pathways. For more information, see Submitting Documents and Web Pages.
Your administrator specifies the defaults for the types of items that appear in your search results. You can change these defaults on the Pathways Preferences page.
