After Collaboration has been installed, it is important that you configure some initial administration elements to make Collaboration useful to your users. We recommend that you do the following:
Integrate groupware such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange with Collaboration. For more information, see Groupware Servers and Groupware Servers (Setting).
Check what the maximum file upload size is set to in the maxUploadMegaBytes parameter of config.xml, and change it if necessary. By default, config.xml is installed in <PT_HOME>\ptcollab\4.1\settings\config, where <PT_HOME> is, by default, C:\Program Files\plumtree\ .
Configure Collaboration settings on the Miscellaneous Settings page, such as maximum project size and personal projects.
Use the Diagnostics page to make sure that Collaboration is installed and running correctly.
Assign key Collaboration users to activity rights. An activity right lets users perform various actions in Collaboration. Because projects are at the core of Collaboration's functionality, you should assign the Manage Collaboration Projects activity right to at least one user so they can create one or more projects. For more information about activity rights and step-by-step instructions on how to grant an activity right to a user, see About Activity Rights.
After one or more projects have been created in Collaboration, assign key Collaboration users to roles. Roles provide users with:
Permissions to perform various actions on project objects.
Access to project information.
For more information, see About Roles.
Configure instant messaging integration. For more information, see Administrator Guide for BEA AquaLogic Interaction Collaboration.
