Installation and Upgrade Guide for BEA AquaLogic Interaction Content Service for Documentum 5.5
install.pdf
|
Describes how to install and upgrade the components of AquaLogic Interaction
Content Service - Documentum 5.5. |
- Plumtree Content Service - Documentum has been renamed to AquaLogic Interaction
Content Service - Documentum.
- AquaLogic Interaction Content Service - Documentum 5.5 supports Solaris
10.
- When upgrading from Plumtree Portal 4.5WS to Plumtree
Foundation 6.0, you are required to use the DocumentumCS.pte file from the
Plumtree Content Service - Documentum v.5.4 release. Migration packages from
previous releases of Documentum CS fail to create Web service. (Issue #47244)
- The Documentum Content Server may require special
configuration to handle non-European characters. AquaLogic Interaction Content
Service - Documentum is designed to work with non-European characters but
only if the Documentum back-end can also handle non-European characters. (Issues
#21877 and #21603)
- When executing the ptdctmcsd.sh to start or stop the AquaLogic Interaction Content Service - Documentum
daemon, a message indicating that the "Plumtree Test Service" is being started
or stopped will appear. Only the message is erroneous; the AquaLogic Interaction Content Service - Documentum
service is actually being started or stopped. (Issue #44355)
- Crawl job or click-throughs fail with error stating there are no more available
sessions: [DM_API_E_NO_SESSION] error: "There are no more available sessions."
(Issue #27874)
Workaround: Increase the max_session_count in the dmcl.ini file.
This may have to be done iteratively until the error goes away. Make sure
that the concurrent_sessions parameter in the server.ini file of the docbase
is large enough to support the value in the dmcl.ini file. Consult the section
of the installation guide that covers tuning Documentum for details.
- Out of memory error (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError) occurs when clicking through
to a very large file: ~160 mb. (Issue #35926)
Workaround: Tune the application server to allocate more memory
to the JVM or only crawl smaller files.
- The online help for the main page of the data source (v.5.0 Portal only)
states that it is possible to choose "Does not use the gateway to open documents."
This option is not available. The Content Service only supports gatewayed
click-through. (Issue #40111)
Workaround: Always choose the default setting to use the gateway.
If non-gatewayed is selected, change it back to the default setting.
- Click-through does not work after upgrading from Documentum CWS 5.1.1 to
Documentum CS 5.4. The screen appears that queries for the credentials, but
nothing happens when the credentials are entered. (Issue #39972)
Workaround: The User Preferences as configured in the Preferences
screen of both of the Web services in Portal v.5.0 and above and in the clickthrough
gadget of 4.5WS need to be capitalized. Specifically, "Docbase", "DocbaseUser",
"DocbasePassword", and "DocbaseDomain" need to become "DOCBASE", "DOCBASEUSER",
"DOCBASEPASSWORD", "DOCBASEDOMAIN". Consult the upgrade section of the installation
guide for details.
- For some crawls, certain .pdf files are not successfully crawled into the
portal. (Issue #20869)
Workaround: Re-run the crawl and the missing .pdf files should
be crawled.
- When upgrading to AquaLogic Interaction Content Service - Documentum 5.5 from previous versions, the installer wizard page that prompts for the installation folder shows the default installation directory as c:\Program Files\plumtree instead of the correct default directory, which is c:\bea\alui.
