To use the Proxy Agent functionality with ALSM, make the following changes:

• Modify the installation properties file to allow the installation of the Proxy Agent.
• Download and install a modified version of the ALSM online help file, and configure the ALSM Management console to use the local online help.

The instructions for these changes are described below.

Modify the Properties File

The default value for the property AP_BEA_FEATURE_SET is set to TRUE. This setting prevents the installation of the Proxy Agent.

To enable installation of the Proxy Agent, comment out this line in the properties file:
# AP_BEA_FEATURE_SET=true

Install the Updated ALSM Documentation on a Local Machine

1. Download the online help package from this site:apsmshelp2.war
2. From the WebLogic Server Administration Console, delete the installed Web application module named apsmshelp.
3. From the WebLogic Server Administration Console, deploy a new Web application module using the apsmshelp2.war file you downloaded in Step 1.
4. Follow the instructions in To set the online help location for setting the local help.
