Create a WebSphere Profile

WebSphere profiles are application server environments. Each profile contains its own set of commands, configuration files, log files, and deployable applications. A default profile is created when WebSphere is installed. Additional profiles can be created with the Profile Creation Wizard.

To create a WebSphere profile:

  1. Choose Start | All Programs | IBM WebSphere | Application Server | Profile Creation Wizard.

  2. On the Welcome to the Profile Creation Wizard screen, click Next.

  3. On the Profile Name screen, enter a Profile name and click Next.

  4. On the Profile Directory screen, enter a Profile directory and click Next.

  5. On the Node and Host Named screen, enter a Node name and Host name and click Next.

  6. On the Port value assignments screen, accept the default values and click Next.

  7. On the Windows Service Definition screen, select Log on as a specified user account; enter a User name and Password for the account and click Next.

  8. On the Profile Summary screen, click Next.

  9. On the Profile Creation Is Complete screen, deselect Launch the First Steps console and click Finish.
