Chapter 1:
Oracle9iAS Clustering
-----------

Figure 1-1 = Shows how a cluster unifies multiple application server instances spread over multiple machines to collectively serve a single group of applications.

Figure 1-2 = Shows how application server clusters enable higher availability by providing redundancy and backup and eliminating a single point of failure, with clients accessing the cluster through a load balancer, which can send requests to any application server instance in the cluster.

Figure 1-3 = Shows how managed clustering uses Enterprise Manager, allowing the administrator to make configuration changes

Figure 1-4 = Shows the architecture of a farm and a cluster.

Figure 1-5 = Shows how OHS acts as a load balancer for OC4J processes, allowing the two Oracle HTTP Servers in the cluster know about both of the OC4J processes.

Figure 1-6 = Shows OC4J processes in a cluster, demonstrating the OC4J_home default OC4J instance.

Figure 1-7 = Shows OC4J processes in islands within the cluster.

Figure 1-8 = Shows the configuration tree for a cluster.

Figure 1-9 = Shows the configuration that occurs for both application server instances.

Figure 1-10 = Shows the Oracle9iAS Farm Home Page with a single application server instance.

Figure 1-11 = Shows the Oracle9iAS Create Cluster page.

Figure 1-12 = Shows the Oracle9iAS Farm Home Page after a cluster is created.

Figure 1-13 = Shows the Oracle9iAS Join Cluster page.

Figure 1-14 = Shows Island and Process Configuration (the Multiple VM Configuration section) on the Administration section of the OC4J Home Page.

Figure 1-15 = Shows Web State Replication Configuration (the Web Applications section) on the Administration section of the OC4J Home Page.

Figure 1-16 = Shows EJB State Replication Configuration (the EJB Applications section) on the Administration section of the OC4J Home Page.

Figure 1-17 = Shows non-replicated configuration (the Multiple VM Configuration section) on the Server Properties section of the OC4J Home Page.
